The CAPS Cafe Series is a space for students to come together and engage in open discussion of select topics related to mental health. The goal is to advance both personal awareness and knowledge of mental health issues through this collaborative process.

Come explore tools which actors and directors and scholars of Shakespeare can use to unlock the passion of Shakespeare's text from the printed page and beyond! Visiting Artists Brandon Carter and Zoe Speas will be holding this workshop on Monday, October 8th from 3:30 PM until 6:00 PM in the Lab Theatre performance space located in CSTAC.

Join LCVA on Wednesday October 10 for Art After Dark Presents Meet the Folks: Rural art and Identity in the New Nation. Longwood University Associate Professor of Art History Dr. Terri Sabatos will lead a gallery talk based on the LCVA's current exhibition: A Shared Legacy: Folk Art in America.

Join LCVA for a reception with the artist, October 19th 5:30-8:00pm. LeUyen Pham (but you can call her “Win”) is an award-winning author and illustrator of more than 100 books for children. LeUyen's art ("There's No Such Thing As Little") is on display at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts through November 25.

With colorful cut-paper banners strung from the ceiling and mariachi music playing on the stereo, the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts will whisk families from Farmville to Mexico for one art-filled morning. On Saturday, October 27, from 10:30 a.m-12:30pm, LCVA will host its annual Día de los Muertos Free Family Workshop, with fantastico art activities! The event is free and open to the public; children must be accompanied by an adult.
