These hazards include fire, burns, injuries to sight and respiratory consequence from fumes, gases, sparks, hot metal and radiant energy.

Description: This procedure establishes guidelines for the weekly/monthly inspection and testing of all fire pumps within Longwood University by representatives of the University’s staff. This Procedure is base on NFPA 25 Standard for the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems, Chapter Eight. The purpose of inspection and testing shall be to verify the pump starts upon loss of pressure and the pump assembly is in operating condition and is free from physical damage.
