Well-Being Through Hobbies: Faculty Showcase
Do you paint, knit, garden, play an instrument, bake, woodwork, or have another creative pursuit? Whether your hobby is hands-on, artistic, active, or reflective, we’d love for you to showcase it.
Engaging in hobbies isn’t just a pastime—it’s a well-being practice. Research shows that creative and recreational activities help reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and foster a greater sense of purpose. By sharing our hobbies, we celebrate the activities that bring us joy while also inspiring and connecting with colleagues who may be seeking new ways to support their health and happiness..
As part of Faculty Well-Being Days, April 14-17, we invite you to participate in our Faculty Hobby Showcase, a special event celebrating the activities that bring us joy, balance, and fulfillment. The showcase will be on April 15 from 3:30-5:00 pm; location TBA. We will provide space for displays, demonstrations, and conversations. Whether you bring a finished project, a live demonstration, or simply a story about how your hobby enriches your life, your participation could encourage a colleague to explore a new passion for their well-being.
If you’re interested in participating, please email Pam Tracy @ tracypj@longwood.edu with a brief description of your hobby.
