LAST MINUTE REVISIONS - SUBMITTING YOUR P&T FOLDER!
Date: Wednesday, August 31st from 3:30-5pm
Location: Allen 308 (CAFE Classroom)
This 90-minute session is designed to help all second through fifth year tenure track faculty complete their professional portfolios for submission the first week of September. We’ll begin with a discussion of the audience, context, and purpose of their professional file. For the remaining time, attendees will have an opportunity to work on their portfolios in community, using a Pomodoro technique. CAFE provides space, snacks, and stress relief items. A CAFE staff member will also be present to consult on questions and to help participants get past obstacles to submitting their folders on time.
As CAFE is not involved in the P&T process, attendees are asked to discuss departmental and college requirements with their department chairs prior to attending the workshop.
FOCUSED PRODUCTIVITY SESSIONS
Join CAFE for productivity sessions again this semester. All faculty and staff are welcome. The sessions use a focused cycle: set a goal, work towards it for 25 minutes, and then take a five-minute break. You will repeat the cycle three times. Choose the session that fits your needs:

BLACKWELL TALKS CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Blackwell Talks are Works in Progress
Are you completing a dissertation? Have you recently completed one? Are you preparing for a conference? Submitting for a publication? Do you have research that has been left on the back-burner for too long and wish to breathe new life into it? Blackwell Talks are designed to showcase and support budding scholarship at its early stages. Since 2009, the Monday Blackwell Talks have provided a forum for faculty to get feedback on developing research and innovative ideas. This CAFE-sponsored seminar series is an informal, friendly environment where faculty present their research to colleagues who then ask questions and provide suggestions and additional ideas.
Submission Details
Submissions are open to all faculty and staff. Blackwell Scholars will receive a $150 stipend and a certificate. All talks will be on Mondays from 12:00 to 12:50 in the Virginia Room. Snacks and beverages are provided. We encourage presenters to attend all sessions in support of their fellow Scholars.

Proposals must include:
- Exact title of your presentation
- Presenter name(s) with a short biography Presenter department(s) Presenter email address & phone Semester and Year of most recent Blackwell Talk for each presenter, if applicable Project Description: Include a description of the subject of your presentation written for a general audience (250 word maximum).
- Description of Project Status: Include a description of the current state of the project and how this project represents a work in progress that will benefit through feedback from talk attendees. You could include questions or concerns that you have about moving forward with your research project (250 words maximum).
Presentations should plan to last no more than about 30 minutes, with the remaining time for discussion with the audience. Presenters may use slides for the talk but it is not required. The audience for the Blackwell Talks will consist of your fellow scholars and colleagues from various academic areas, and the atmosphere is kept purposefully relaxed.
