At Allen 101

In honor of Women’s History Month, Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies will be hosting a talk on Thursday, March 23 starting at 4pm in Allen 101. There will also be a food reception starting at 3:30pm.

Rene Rodgers and Toni Doman from the Birthplace of Country Music in Bristol, Virginia will be giving a talk entitled “I’ve Endured: Exploring the Story of Women in Old-Time Music” to coincide with the opening of a special exhibit that opens that day.  You can read more about the special exhibit here: https://birthplaceofcountrymusic.org/event/new-special-exhibit-coming-soon-ive-endured-women-in-old-time-music/

Their talk will focus on creating the exhibit, sharing some stories of the interesting women featured, and how they use programming and other resources to expand beyond the physical exhibit.

We hope that you can attend and we really hope that you will share this with your students.
