On March 30th, the Office of Citizen Leadership & Social Justice Education, in conjunction with the Women's & Gender Studies Minor and the College Panhellenic Council, will be hosting a Women's Leadership Summit with the theme of "EmpoWOMENt". This summit is meant to facilitate the leadership development of women student leaders and their allies by engaging with issues of feminism, intersectionality, identity, and privilege. Students attending the summit will be empowered to advocate for change and leave with a feeling of support and community from their peers.
We are currently looking for presenters to facilitate the break-out sessions that fall in line with the description and goals written above. Break-out sessions may last up to 1 hour & 15 minutes. Suggested topics include, but certainly not limited to:
- Bystander intervention
- Understanding Privilege, Stereotypes, and Identity
- Finding Your Authentic Voice
- Investigating Masculinity & Femininity, Going Beyond the Binary
- Building Allyships/How to be an Ally
I'm really excited to offer this opportunity to our students and would love to have representation from your department or organization!
