The Longwood Department of Chemistry and Physics engages in excellent teaching and mentoring. We also facilitate and support undergraduate research as an important and valued part of the curriculum.

Our program centers on the basic principles and phenomena of molecules. Here, you'll get plenty of one-on-one time with your professors in Longwood's small classes and professional labs. Our graduates go on to tackle and solve problems in industrial and governmental laboratories, non-profit organizations, the healthcare sector and academia.
