Present your research and creative inquiry projects at the Fall 2023 Student Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry.
The Fall 2023 Student Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry will occur on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 1:00-5:30pm.
This event is open to all students and all majors who are engaging in research and creative inquiry. Students doing independent study projects, research projects, and class projects are invited to participate. Posters, oral presentations, performances, visual displays, and other presentations of creative work will be showcased.
3 Minute Presentation Competition
Three minute thesis (3MT) is an international initiative that started in Australia at Queensland University and is now used by university programs across the United States.
New to the Fall Student Showcase this year, we will hold a 3MP (Three Minute Presentation) competition as a modified version of 3MT. The 3MP competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by students at Longwood University. This competition cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and communication skills through a highly polished and practiced three-minute oral presentation. 3MP presenters are allowed to have one slide and presentations need to be appropriate to non-specialist audiences so anyone can understand the potential impact of their research.

To participate in the 3 Minute Presentation Competition, students will need to upload a video of their 3 Minute Presentation to Longwood University's 3MP Digital Commons site. The 3 Minute Presentation videos will be evaluated by a team of judges and the winners of the 3 Minute Presentation Competition will be announced after the Fall Student Showcase. More information about the format and submission of the 3 Minute Presentation videos will be provided soon.
Students can indicate if they would like to participate in the 3 Minute Presentation Competition on the Fall Student Showcase Registration site.
The Fall Student Showcase registration deadline is October 15, 2023 at 5pm.
