Please join us for the Spring Student Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
We have an exciting set of in-person events planned starting at 9:00am, with over 450 presentations by undergraduate students scheduled on April 17.
The day is organized like a conference, with hour-long poster sessions occurring in the Blackwell Ballroom all day (9:45-5:30), and concurrent oral presentation sessions occurring in classrooms in Rotunda and Bedford (9:45-5:30). There also will be theater performances in the CSTAC Lab Theater, music performances in Molnar Recital Hall, the Junior Art Show and Award Ceremony in the Bedford Atrium, and the Longwood Excellence in Research and Creative Inquiry and Incite Award Ceremony in the Virginia Room.
The Inclusive Excellence Symposium on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging will also occur as part of the Spring Student Showcase on April 17. This exciting event will begin with a Keynote Address by Dr. Yaoying Xu, Professor and Program Coordinator for Counseling and Special Education and Director of the International Educational Studies Center at the School of Education, Virginia Commonwealth University at 9:00am in the Virginia Room. Student presentations on DEIB-based research topics will occur across campus from 9:45 to 3:30.
As part of the QEP, we are also offering the following Career Development Workshops during the Student Showcase. These workshops are open to all students (students do not need to present at the Student Showcase to attend these career development opportunities).
- Students- Do you want to learn how to highlight your Student Showcase presentation on your resume, cover letter, and other professional documents? Attend the Career Development Workshops to learn how to explain your communication and teamwork skills to future employers and graduate schools. The same material will be covered during both sessions so you can select a session that fits your schedule.
