Microsoft TEAMS

Communicate & Collaborate

Microsoft Teams provides a chat-based hub for teamwork and group-based collaboration. Have a conversation, share files, store files and notes, or hold a meeting in Teams. Teams is both easy to use and very useful.

Academic and administrative departments can request to have a Team created by emailing helpdesk@longwood.edu, submitting a work order via the web, or calling 434-395-4357. Once the departmental Team is in place, unlimited Channels can be created. Channels offer the same functionality as a Team!

Features:

  • Chat with other faculty and staff at Longwood (you do not have to be in a Team
    to use the chat feature)
  • Collaborate in Team conversation boards
  • Share files and notes within Team channels and connect with BOX
• Hold an online meeting with video and screen sharing options
  • Trigger notifications by tagging people/channels (ex. @Lancer, Elwood or @channel)

You can access the Teams download within the Software Center on your Windows computer, Self Service on your Mac, or by logging into https://office.com/ and clicking in the Teams tile. In Software Center, you will click on the Applications option on the far left top of the window to view the list of software available.
