Alexander Daniel is the recipient of the SNVC Scholarship for MBA Students. Alec has demonstrated
leadership skills both in the classroom and in the community.
In academics Alec maintained five semesters on the President’s List in his undergraduate studies at Longwood University. He has offered assistance to fellow students as a mentor to enhance their study skills and academic improvement. In “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” training, we refer to this as “Teach to Learn”. His personal goal has been to “provide leadership to my peers to the best of my ability”. His efforts have been noticed and he now serves on the College of Business and Economic Student Advisory Board to strengthen growth and improvement within CBE.
Beyond the classroom he has been a distinguished member of the Geist Mortar Board and assisted in services to benefit the Farmville Community. Alec feels his proudest achievement has been his impact on the Longwood Cross Country and Track team. He was named the team’s first undergraduate captain. His role was impactful with daily workouts and effective communication as he helped the team grow in both size and performance. His professor wrote, “Alec exemplifies the qualities of leadership, academic excellence and commitment to both individual and team success”. This comment certainly describes a true leader.
While serving as Captain for the team, his achievements include being a four time Big South All-Academic team member, Longwood All-Academic member, and Longwood Academic PRIDE award recipient. His involvement with the team will continue as assistant to the coach as he matriculates with his MBA in Finance.
