Alexandra Lee is the recipient of the 2017-2018 MBA Scholarship offered by the SNVC Institute. With no doubt, she embodies the principles of “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” training offered by the SNVC Institute.
Alexandra is a person who has looked at situations “Proactively” (Habit 1) by having an active role turning challenges to opportunities when observing dissatisfaction within a student organization to produce tangible victories.
Being involved with a variety of organizations and activities while pursuing an undergraduate degree at Longwood, she “Began with the End in Mind” (Habit 2) to achieve specific goals while serving as the Main Stage Chair for a successful Oktoberfest 2016; organizing fund raising events for FACES and the Environmental Club; initiating environmentally sustainable practices in the Longwood Dining Facilities; implementing incentives to improve recycling efforts on campus; and founding the Epsilon Chapter of Epsilon Eta (an environmental honors fraternity). Her leadership roles have included serving as President of the Honors Student Association, President of Epsilon Eta, a member of the Mortar Board, participation in the Mountain Lake Leadership Conference, and completion of the Joan of Arc Leadership Program. These are just some of her accomplishments. She has accomplished this while maintaining a GPA of 3.5.
She knows the importance of “Putting First Things First” (Habit 3) and has the innate ability to “Think Win-Win” (Habit 4) because her dedication to leadership that impacts more than herself. The impacts from her actions are sure to help our community long after she has graduated from Longwood.
A leader needs to “Seek First to Understand” (Habit 5) and work with diverse groups of people to achieve goals (Synergy – Habit 6). Yes, she has demonstrated these Habits as well.
Continuing to “Sharpen the Saw” (Habit 7) with knowledge gained from her MBA degree, there is full indication that her leadership skills will continue to grow and prosper with any endeavor she pursues.
