The President's Welcome for the new academic year will take place as scheduled on next Wednesday, August 19th – with some variations from usual, with social distancing and public health protocols in mind. President Reveley will give remarks and take questions at 11:00 in Jarman Auditorium, which can seat up to 135 properly distanced. His remarks and the Q&A will be live streamed, the link is: http://www.longwood.edu/live. There will also be additional opportunities next Wednesday to meet with President Reveley for discussion and Q&A. He will be available at 9:00 a.m. in the main auditorium of Radcliff Hall, and at 10:00 a.m. in the Martinelli Boardroom. Both spaces can accommodate up to 25 people. And at 12:00 noon President Reveley will be outside on Brock Commons in front of Bedford Hall for discussion and Q&A as well.
There is no need to RSVP for any of these times, and – drum-roll – we will be arranging for everyone's name to be in the annual parking raffle, which will be drawn at the 11:00 welcome in Jarman (you do not need to be present to win, and winners will be notified by email). Also, we will find a different occasion in the future for a next campus-wise luncheon rather than there being a luncheon on the 19th, which is a busy time on campus with the student move-in process beginning earlier than usual since it is spaced over several days this year.
