“Remembering the Dream, Living the Legacy, Continuing the Journey”
The View from the Mountaintop In his final speech, Dr. King said that he had “been to the mountaintop” and that he'd “seen the Promised Land,” meaning that he had seen a positive future, despite how things looked at the time.
As we remember the dream and legacy of Dr. King and others in the Civil Rights Movement, we invite students to visit the N.H. Scott Multicultural Center (third floor of the Upchurch University Center) to share their perspectives through art and design. Students will be encouraged to reflect on how they see the world today and, most importantly, how they will continue the journey and impact positive change in the community.
