International Dinner and Iron Chef Competition

Organized by English and Modern Languages department

Students will be showing off their language and culinary skills during the annual International Dinner and Iron Chef competition. The event, celebrating its tenth year, provides a chance for students of German, French and Spanish to explore and share some of each country's culture while cooking and presenting authentic dishes. A group of judges taste and comment on the dishes before guests enjoy all of the featured recipes in a buffet style dinner.

This year menu includes:

French

  • Tacos Lyonnais - Grilled wrap of spicy chicken and potatoes with dipping sauces.
  • Tomates à la Provençale - Stuffed baked tomatoes.
  • Pain perdu - A sweet French toast dessert.

German

  • Rouladen - Rolled filled beef dish.
  • Kartoffelpuffer - German potato fritters
  • Spaghettieis - Ice cream dish made to look like spaghetti.

Spanish

  • Mole de guajolote – Turkey in Mole Sauce
  • Chiles en Nogada – Peppers stuffed with spices
  • Torrejas – Sweet Cuban toasts
