First Generation students (the first in their family to complete a Bachelor’s degree) are celebrated nationally each year on November 8. This date honors the anniversary of the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965. About 33% of Longwood students are First Gen! This year, we will celebrate on 2 days--November 7 & 9. Tabling on Brock Commons (CHI Fountain), 11am-1pm with information, giveaways, and a photo booth. First Gen-All In!
