Departure Deadline
All residents must leave campus within 24 hours after their last exam or by 12:00 p.m. on December 13, whichever comes first.

Winter Break Housing
No main campus housing (or meal services) will be available during the winter break.

Special Intent to Stay Process

Continuing/enrolled apartment residents (with the same assignment again for spring 2026) are eligible to stay during the winter break.

    • Following the Thanksgiving break, more details/instructions will be emailed to ELIGIBLE residents.
    • Submission deadline: Thursday, December 11, by 11:59 p.m. on the Housing Gateway.

Non-Enrolled Students
Students who are graduating, withdrawing, or otherwise not enrolled for the spring semester must check out and return university keys by 12:00 p.m. on December 13.

    • Students withdrawing or being suspended during winter break may return to retrieve their belongings on January 10, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Winter Session Classes
Main campus residents taking winter session courses should select online options or arrange alternative accommodations such as commuting, staying with family or friends, or booking local lodging in Farmville.

Continuing Residents
Residents returning to the same assignment for spring 2025 do not need to remove personal belongings or return keys when leaving for winter break.

12  Student Move-In held; 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; New student Orientation/Registration

14  Classes begin; 8:00 a.m.

19  MLK Holiday; University Closed
