Dr. Laura Jimenez, Associate Professor of Kinesiology, has been honored with the 2025 Maude Glenn Raiford Teaching Award, presented at this year’s Convocation. The award recognizes a faculty member at the rank of associate or full professor who demonstrates excellence in teaching, including innovation, student mentorship, and high academic standards.
Since joining Longwood in 2017, Dr. Jimenez has become a cornerstone of the Kinesiology program, where she also serves as Program Coordinator. She is known for her innovative and rigorous approach to courses like Exercise Testing and Prescription, as well as her mentorship of student research and contributions to curriculum development. A frequent presenter on instructional technology, she continually enhances both student engagement and faculty collaboration.
Dr. Jimenez exemplifies the qualities celebrated by the Raiford Award, and HRK proud to recognize her dedication to teaching and student success.
