Students working with a Bosu ball in KINS 298Students in Longwood University's Kinesiology program are gaining valuable hands-on experience in injury rehabilitation and fitness training. In the course KINS 298 Acute Care of Injuries and Illness, students were tasked with developing rehabilitation exercises, ranging from basic range of motion movements to sport-specific drills. This practical application of knowledge allows students to better understand the recovery process and design effective rehabilitation programs.
In addition to rehabilitation training, students also gain experience in assessing balance and proprioception using equipment like BOSU Balance Trainers. This hands-on approach, combined with a strong foundation in functional anatomy, prepares students for a wide range of careers in health and fitness after graduation.
