It was announced earlier this week that Greenwood Library, in partnership with Student Affairs, now provides online access to the New York Times. But, the library also has access to multiple news sources through our website.

Here are some highlights based on your news needs:

I need Breaking News updates.

Click on the hyperlink above to set up your FREE account for access to all New York Times digital content (except the Crossword, sorry). You can even download the app, and turn on your notifications for Breaking News updates.

I’m only interested in historical news.

  • Boston Globe
  • Chicago Tribune
  • New York Tribune/ Herald Tribune
  • Norfolk Journal and Guide
  • Philadelphia Inquirer
  • San Francisco Chronicle
  • … and more!

I want to search for a specific event in multiple newspapers.

  • Factiva from Dow Jones
  • NexisUni (previously LexisNexis Academic)
  • NewsBank: Access World News
  • Newspaper Source Plus

Where do I find all of these resources?

View our Newspaper Research Guide, a comprehensive resource for all of your newspaper needs. As always, you can contact your liaison librarian for more information or contact the Desk at 434-395-2433 or ask@longwood.libanswers.com.
