Dr. Sarah Loeb, Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Hampden-Sydney College will discuss how to use graph theory to model a vacation on a budget.  She'll also discuss methods for deciding a good way to order destinations and their possible pitfalls.

Loeb grew up in Southwestern Washington and attended Harvey Mudd College, a small liberal arts college with a STEM focus located in Southern California. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her research is focused on graph theory.

Last year, she was a visiting assistant professor at William and Mary and this year she joined Hampden-Sydney College as an assistant professor.

She lives in Farmville with her fiancé and cat and is planning a summer 2019 wedding. She enjoys board games, Dungeons and Dragons and reading fantasy novels.
