Please join us on Wednesday, April 22 for Longwood University's Spring Student Showcase. More than 800 students will be presenting their research and creative inquiry projects at this event.
The Student Showcase will begin on April 22 at 9:00am in the Virginia Room of the Rotunda with Welcoming Remarks from Dr. Roger Byrne, Dean of Cook-Cole College of Arts and Sciences.
The Keynote Address and Award ceremony will begin at 1:00pm in the Martinelli Board Room in Maugans. This year's Keynote Address will be given by Ms. Elizabeth Kostelny ‘81, Recipient of Longwood University’s Distinguished Professional Achievement Alumni Award, Former CEO of Preservation Virginia.
Elizabeth Kostelny ’81, began her career as an art teacher after graduating with a BS from Longwood University. She continued her studies at the University of South Carolina where she worked at McKissick Museum. Elizabeth recently retired from Preservation Virginia after 34 years, including 23 years as CEO. The spirit of education, creativity and innovation tracked through her entire career. Through her work, the organization expanded its impacts at Historic Jamestowne and statewide through advocacy efforts. She led Preservation Virginia’s efforts to recognize the complexity and multilayered nature of Virginia’s history and historic places.
