Research with human and animal subjects must conform to federal regulations designed to ensure adequate protection of the subjects involved.
Two committees appointed by the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs review and approve or reject research proposals submitted by Longwood faculty, staff and students or by external researchers.

All faculty, staff and students submitting research proposals must complete online training provided by CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative).
