A JAZZ-Y FACULTY RECEPTION
Please join CAFE and the Longwood Music Program on March 14th from 5:30-7pm in 310 Allen Hall for a pre-concert reception as we celebrate Charlie Kinzer’s final on-campus Jazz Ensemble concert. We’ll toast Charlie with drinks, snacks, and friends with a plan to walk over to Jarman Hall at 7pm for the 7:30pm concert. RSVP not required and feel free to attend even if you can’t stay for the concert!

This session will provide information on what Packback is, as well as review the steps and considerations for integrating Packback within Canvas courses.

In this guided discussion, we will present information on the current scope of the LGBTQ+ community here at Longwood, nationally, and globally. We will also offer skills and resources to help improve engagement with LGBTQ+ students.

How can you classroom spaces affect LGBTQ+ students and their performance in (and out of) the classroom. In this interactive workshop, we will explore ways to incorporate LGBTQ+-based content into your pedagogy, teaching practices, and lessons. Be sure to bring a course syllabus, assignment, or your teaching philosophy, as we will work directly to find ways to incorporate LGBTQ+ content and/or elements of queer pedagogy into your current teaching and classes.

IN THE EDITOR’S CHAIR: ADVICE AND GUIDANCE FOR AUTHORS
Join us for a panel discussion as Current and former editors Rhonda Brock, Audrey Church, and Carl Harvey summarize best practices for journal submissions, followed by a question and answer session.

CAFE AND CIVITAE COLLABORATION
CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE INSTITUTE TRAINING AND EVENTS
The Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI) will offer multiple virtual trainings and workshops during the spring semester for faculty and staff interested in developing skills in the area of facilitating dialogue with students.  Topics this spring include incorporating dialogue in the classroom and balancing free speech while limiting harm to marginalized groups on campus.
