It’s been over a year since ChatGPT broke into the mainstream consciousness and initiated a nationwide discussion on the possible effects on higher education. The concerns we all had appear to have been realized this academic year as increasing numbers of faculty are reporting unauthorized use of AI tools by students. Unfortunately, these cases cost instructors significantly in terms of both grading labor and emotional labor. In this workshop, we'll use case studies or your own examples to show how faculty might first identify inappropriate AI use and then decide on an appropriate course of action. We’ll also address future concerns that you may have. Our goal is to help participants reduce their overall labor by helping establish clear guidelines for the rest of the semester and beyond.
