The ability to create advanced Polls in Zoom is now available to all Longwood users!
The polling feature for meetings allows hosts to create single-choice or multiple-choice polling questions, while advanced polling adds matching, ranked choice, short answer, and long answer options. Hosts can also upload their own images for individual questions and set correct answers to have the poll function as a quiz.
Hosts will be able to launch the poll during a Zoom meeting and gather the responses from participants. Full details of the poll results, such as each participant's answers and submission times, are contained in the polling reports, which are available after the meeting by default but can also be made available during the live session. Polls can also be conducted anonymously if you do not wish to collect participant information with the poll results.
Please note that while the data above is available as part of Zoom’s polling reports, the DEC recommends PollEverywhere be used for users requiring advanced data and analytics in polling. Zoom polling is most effectively used for informal formative assessments and to drive engagement and dialogue in the virtual classroom space.
Please see this full article from Zoom that outlines the use cases for (and limitations of) Advanced Polling in Zoom. Reach out to the DEC with any additional questions!
