Access Canvas 24/7 Vendor Support

The DEC is now happy to offer 24 hour/365 days a year technical support via Instructure. Staffed by in-house Canvas experts, they offer service-level agreements to provide quick resolutions to questions and problems. Upon chatting or calling Canvas, you can expect a wait time of about 2 minutes or less. An email or ticket will be responded to within an hour. This new service not only gives faculty, students and staff a quicker and more direct line to receive assistance, but grants the DEC time to focus on instructional design, pedagogy and the opportunity to stay abreast of the ever changing educational technology world and emerging topics and tools. 

Longwood University faculty, students and staff have 3 ways to contact support. To access support, log into Canvas and click the Help icon in the global navigation menu. 

Issues that Canvas will be your first line of support, including but not limited to: 

  • General how-tos, error messages, glitches, content is missing, you cannot save or submit an assignment, settings are not operating as intended, submission questions, global and course navigation, and group settings, among others.  
  • Canvas support will be your main resource on nights, weekends and holidays. 

The DEC will aid you with: 

  • Canvas training and instructional design support, Teacher/TA course addition requests, LTI/external tool requests, and more. 

The Help Desk is still your first line of support for password resets and account questions.
