Scissor lifts, boom lifts, telescoping lifts, bucket trucks,… are types of equipment designed to raise a person up to where work needs to be done. There are different regulations for specific types of lifts, but the written compliance program addresses these differences.

 

Only Certified Lift Operators may operate a University lift (including rentals.)

To become certified, a prospective operator arranges with one of the Lift Trainers for mentorship, attends a classroom/on-line training session, and practices using the lift until they can be tested by two observing Lift Trainers. EHS issues the Operator certificate which is good for three years.
