Powered Industrial Trucks, commonly called Fork Lifts, are used to move, lift, and stack material. These highly maneuverable vehicles use counterweights to perform massive feats of lifting. The average forklift is a quarter the size of an automobile but the same weight. Operators are required to be trained and tested every three years. The lifts themselves must be inspected every day that they are used.
