Dear Longwood community,

know exams and much hard work still await before the semester is complete. But as Thanksgiving approaches, I simply wanted to take a moment to convey my own gratitude for all we have accomplished together this semester.

I know it hasn’t been easy. But the professionalism and hard work of our faculty and staff, and the commitment and devotion of our students to Longwood and to one another, are what have kept us safe and healthy and learning.

Please stay vigilant this holiday season, and please maintain the practices that have served us well since the semester began in August. Our shared commitment to one another, along with the work of extraordinary scientists around the world now bearing fruit, make me immensely hopeful that 2021 will be a good year.

This Thanksgiving, I am so extraordinarily grateful for the Longwood community. It is the great strength carrying us forward through this current challenge, and it will be our greatest resource for the far future, too.

Wishing you a safe, healthy, and happy Thanksgiving,

TR
