• Before your last day: update your address and email in Cardinal Self-Service. Updating your email to a personal email account will allow you to be able to access Cardinal after you have been separated from employment with Longwood. You may need to access Cardinal for paystubs or W-2's.
    • Cardinal Homepage -- Personal Details tile

  • If you are unable to update your address and email prior to your last day of employment please ask your supervisor to include the updated address and email on the Separation Request form.

  • Enter all time and/or leave prior to your departure.

  • Ensure all personal items are removed from the workplace.

  • Pass along all pertinent information to the appropriate co-worker/supervisor/staff member.

  • If you are transferring to another state agency, be sure to speak with an HR staff member at Longwood as well as your new agency. Your transfer needs to be coordinated so you will not have a break in service and will hopefully have a smooth transition.

  • Be sure to return all Longwood owned property to your supervisor, items include but are not limited to: keys, employee ID, uniforms, business cards, laptops/ipads, etc, credit cards to Accounts Payable, parking tag to Parking Services, art to LCVA, and library resources to the library.

  • You will receive a letter after you separate which will provide you with information on continuation of benefits or how you can contact benefit providers. This packet will also provide you an exit interview survey to complete and return to Human Resources.

  • If you would like to meet with a Benefits staff member to review your benefits/leave or do an exit interview in person, feel free to reach out to a Benefits team member.
