What is Box?
Box is a web-based/cloud storage service. The University has purchased a Box Enterprise license. Box accounts are available for Longwood faculty, staff and students. In addition to storage, Box enables you to collaborate and share information with anyone inside or outside of the University.
How do I access my Longwood Box account?
You can access your Box account at https://longwood.box.com. You will log in using your LancerNet ID and password (the same credentials that you use to access myLongwood, Canvas, etc.).

What is a Longwood Box Organizational Account?
This is an account that is used specifically to store files that need to stay within the University to ensure longevity of the project or information. Organizational accounts must have at least one co-owner at all times. The account's root folder is shared with the co-owner(s) of the account and will show up in the co-owner's Box account. Co-owners maintain permissions for the Organizational account.

Are the files in my Box account backed up?
Yes. All content stored in Box is kept in multiple data centers to ensure your data is safe and can be recovered. Please note that deleted files will be retained (in the trash) for (30) days. After (30) days deleted files will not be recoverable.
How much space is available to me in Box?
You have unlimited file storage space in Box.
What is the maximum file size that can be uploaded into Box?
The maximum file size that can be uploaded is 15GB.
Can I automatically synchronize files that I store in Box?
Box Sync allows you to synchronize locally stored files to Box. Box Sync can be utilized on mobile devices (cell phones/tablets) and your assigned Longwood owned computer(s). The Box Sync download is available within your Box account. You will access the download by clicking on the arrow to the right of your name at the top left side of the window an selecting Get Box Sync.
What happens to my files in Box if I leave the University?
Faculty/Staff:
Your Longwood Box data will be transferred to your supervisor.
Students:
Access to your Longwood Box account will be available to you for (1) year after you leave the University.

How do I find additional help?
Great help and training guides are available to you within Box. Upon logging in to the system you will find "Help" and "Get Training" options under Favorites on the main screen. Additionally, you can click here to access the Box User Guide.
